An amazing story. The protagonist, Ben, finds himself in one difficult situation after enough, eventually leading to a diabolical but believable plot by fueled by greed. A very fast and exciting read. Great work.

I ordered the Tivo XL4 because, let's face it, who wouldn't want 4 tuners - especially with my wife and I and all the shows we watch? As a Cablevision customer, I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to switch the cable card from my oldest model, the HD and seamlessly pair it to the XL4 over the phone. Then, I was amazed at the boot up time of but a few minutes - compared to the other models which you could shower, shave and eat breakfast and it still wouldn't be finished. Using the iPad Tivo app, I was able to easily transfer all of our season passes to the XL4 and cancel them on the HD XL, which will now be my secondary machine. I like the the look of the new interface and many of the new added features. After that - the fun ends. For all of the chest-beating by Tivo about how revolutionary the XL 4 is, I have found it to be incredibly SLOW when trying to work the menus and select programs to watch. It goes at a snail's pace. At this point, I would be happy if the XL4 would operate at least as quickly as the HD XL. Furthermore, the Hulu Plus app doesn't work and keeps returning me to the main menu telling me to try later. Thank God I have Apple TV or my $7.99/mo. subscription would be wasting away. I sure hope a software update fixes the HuluPlus issues and, most importantly, SPEEDS UP the damn machine. Seriously, I'm not joking - the XL4 is like buying a Ferrari with a 4-cylinder from a Ford Focus. This long time Tivo customer is xtremely disappointed.

****UPDATE JUNE 2013****

One would have thought that a company like TiVo, which makes DVRs and nothing else, facing renewed stiff competition from cable company DVRs, would have done something in the way of a software update to speed up the incredibly, annoyingly, unacceptably SLOW as molasses XL4, but they apparently have no problem letting their customers suffer on a daily basis navigating an interface that is easily surpassed by the movement of a sloth. Evidently, they have no respect for their customers who parted with $400-500 of their money to buy what TiVo advertised as their best machine. I should have realized they were asleep at the wheel the past 4 years as Cablevision, et. al., have caught up to them in the DVR wars. A company has little respect for its customers when they make them pay another $150 to stream to their tablets. I guarantee you when I've passed the break even point, or if I can sell this machine, I will return to a Cablevision DVR. Shame on you, TiVo.

I love trivia and I love movies, especially old movies, so I thought this would be a cakewalk. But this trivia is hard. I mean HARD. Like, "What are the names of Rocky Balboa's two pet turtles?" Excuse me? Rocky had pet turtles? Other questions I knew the answer to, but they stumped my coplayers, such as "How many eggs did Paul Newman's character eat in the film Cool Hand Luke?" And those were for movies we've actually seen. If I hadn't seen it, forget it.

Usually when I play Trivial Pursuit with my brother we finish the game within 90-120 minutes, depending on if we're simultaneously watching tv. But this, this we played for 45 minutes before either of us got a piece of pie. After 75 minutes we called it quits.

Don't get me wrong: in some ways this edition is really fun. But I can't get most of my friends to play the regular game with me, and I knew there was no point in even trying to play this with them.

If you're looking for a true movie challenge, this game would be great. But for the casual movie or trivia fan, I suggest you pass.

Whatever you think about "Homicide" getting cancelled, you at least have to acknowledge that the brass at NBC did right by it for as long as they could in the face of its poor ratings. The current realities of network television don't seem to allow for such such partisanship. Schematic cop shows (i.e., the "Law & Order" and "CSI" franchises) are easy to sell; something different, deeper -- better -- not so easy. Viewers prefer the realtive comfort of shows which, hoewever disturbing their content, resolve themselves neatly within the 60-minute time frame. And so NBC knocked off not only its best show since "Homicide" (which I argue was the finest drama in the history of the medium) but anyone's best show. The creative team behind "Boomtown" were determined to exploit the medium in refreshing ways. I hate that phrase "It was too good to last" but in this case, it seems to have been true. Too good for viewers, and much too good for the suits to recognize its unique virtues.

We are the TiVo family: as it is all in the timing, we were seeking to get a new TiVo and so glad we waited for the few weeks as the new model revealed the four tuners! Very easy to set up and we are Verizon Fios Customer and now you can grab a cable card from the Verizon shop or pay postal for it to be delivered to you.; now you can initiative the cable card on your own via the automated phone or website. It took all of 15 minutes to activate the cable card! Sooo easy. no more making an appointment with a technician.

So with four tuners it means we can record four channels simultaneously, record one Internet program whilst watching a pre-recorded show!! We were coming up with needing to record three programs and our two tuner TiVo couldn't cope! So much storage that we don't need to buy an external hard drive to store the HD program that we have for our TiVo Series 3.

We love that out TiVo series three and Elite can talk to each other. We notices if we started watching one program in one room, we can pick it up where we left off on the other TiVo! How cool is this. The transfer replay quality is great as if your were watching it from the original TiVo that recorded the show. Note that transfer is wireless and hence if you have N then it will be a lot quicker.

We love that the IPad has an app for TiVo and now I can search for programs to record without interrupting the program that we are watching. How cool is that! The new TiVo interface allows a smaller screen of the program that you are watching (top right of TV screen) whilst you are searching for shows to record or to search in 'my shows' that were previously recorded.

Didnt even think about it, we bought the lifetime license for it as most TiVo last about 7 to 8 years for us; so it really pays off for us.

Only wished they kept the clock on the front screen!

"Boomtown," cancelled early in its second season by NBC, featured an intriguing, complicated premise and had the ambition to stage a different, twisted mystery to its audience every single week. Watching the first season DVDs, the scope of how ambitious and great "Boomtown" was - and perhaps why it didn't catch on quickly with viewers - becomes abundantly clear.

"Boomtown" promised the story of a crime told from EVERY point of view. The uniformed officers on the scene, the detectives investigating the crime, the assistant DA handling it, the reporter covering it and the paramedic working it all were main characters. The episodes themselves were divided into segments, showcasing a different perspective. Because of this, occasionally the audience would find out larger details or hidden, personal motives that the characters wouldn't themselves discover. Also, because of this "Rashomon"-inspired twist, a different member of the cast could end up at the center of every episode.

The cast, led by Donnie Wahlberg, Mykelti Williamson and the great Neal McDonough, was incredibly talented - particularly the supporting actor Gary Basaraba, who really ought to work more.

Though the episodes focused on a crime, the gimmick of "Boomtown" allowed the audience to glance into the twisted, complicated lives of its main characters, as well. So, in addition to showing an episode about a weird hit-and-run accident, the audience would get to see ADA David McNorris' alcoholic descent. While dealing with an episode on a drive-by shooting, the audience gets to experience wrenching moments from the character Fearless' scarred childhood. And while the other characters think Det. Joel Stevens leads a charmed life, the audience gets to see just how bad things are getting for him at home.

The premise worked more often than it didn't, and some episodes of "Boomtown" are better than others. My personal favorites were "Coyote," which featured an odd crime scene; "Reeling through the Years," featuring an investigation into a 1976 shooting; "The David McNorris Show," featuring the ADA's spin-doctor work on a crime; and "Fearless," the drive-by shooting episode that left me in tears by its end.

I'm not usually a fan of cop shows, but "Boomtown" is far from the usual cop show.

I am a huge movie buff. I own over 2,000 films, from every decade and every genre. Because of this, I think I know quite a bit about movies. I also love Trivial Pursuit, so putting these two things together should be great, right? Since it was made in 1983, many more recent films are missing. This makes the game very difficult to those who are not familiar with older movies. And when I say older I mean 1930-1980, not something that was released 10 years ago. The game was enjoyable to an extent, but was not as fun as I was hoping, mainly because it lacked movie specific questions and focused more on the actors and behind the scenes stuff. Finding this type of information is quite difficult when it comes to older films. I would only recommend this if you love and are very familiar with the classics.

I live in Florida so I used it year round. Lasted for 6 years before the bolts rusted away. Just ordered replacement parts from Poolmaster (about $50-much cheaper than a new one which I was prepared to buy).

Played several one-on-one games including one against a friend of mine who I used to play b-ball with after high school some 45+ years ago. After I made my first 5 shots from mid-pool (practice does make perfect), he looked at me strangely and I told him "my court".
